The sculpture entitled "Pele Dreaming: the
Mask" is created in bas-relief with its design based on the larger, full
size, Pele Dreaming sculpture. The sculpture measures approximately 17 by 22
inches and is signed and copyrighted by the artist.
"Pele Dreaming: The Mask" was created
to fill many requests from collectors for a smaller, versatile Pele image by
the artist.
To produce it, Pele's face and surrounding area were isolated and cast from the
original Pele Dreaming mold, but modified to give the mask an irregular
floating, yet powerful impression. The mask thus contains the same life-size
image as well as the essence and spirit of the larger Pele Dreaming. It is
hand-cast of the same white stone and finished in the same colors and antiquing
as the larger sculpture.

The sculpture is offered in five distinctive hand-finished
colors, applied to the cast stone in a many-layered process using the finest
non-toxic materials. Each of the numbered sculptures of "Pele
Dreaming" or "Pele Dreaming: the Mask" are executed at
Island Studios by MaryAnn & Brock Hylton on
the Big Island of Hawaii... the location of Kilauea volcano, Pele's
